Changing Your Password

If you're already logged in and want to update your password:

  1. Click your profile icon in the top bar
  2. Go to Account Settings → Security
  3. Click Change Password
  4. Enter your current password
  5. Enter your new password (must meet the requirements above)
  6. Confirm the new password
  7. Click Update Password

You'll receive an email notification confirming your password was changed. If you didn't make this change, contact your admin immediately.

Password history

SATLAS remembers your last 5 passwords. You cannot reuse any of them when setting a new password. This prevents cycling back to old, potentially compromised passwords.

Forgot Your Password?

If you can't log in because you've forgotten your password:

  1. Go to the SATLAS login page
  2. Click Forgot Password?
  3. Enter your registered email address
  4. Click Send Reset Link
  5. Check your inbox for a password reset email
  6. Click the link in the email — it opens a secure reset page
  7. Enter and confirm your new password
  8. Click Reset Password
Reset link expiry

The password reset link expires after 1 hour. If it expires, go back to the login page and request a new one.

Password Best Practices

  • Use a unique password for SATLAS — don't reuse passwords from other services
  • Store it in a password manager (1Password, Bitwarden, Dashlane, etc.)
  • Enable 2FA for an additional layer of security — see Two-Factor Authentication →
  • Never share your password with anyone, including your admin

If You Suspect Your Account Is Compromised

  1. Change your password immediately (Account Settings → Security → Change Password)
  2. Check your active sessions and revoke any you don't recognize
  3. Enable 2FA if it's not already on
  4. Notify your admin so they can review audit logs for suspicious activity
